GNOME Outreach Program: Accessibility

The GNOME Foundation is running an accessibility outreach program, offering USD$50,000 to be split among individuals. This program will promote software accessibility awareness among the GNOME community as well as harden and improve the overall quality of the GNOME accessibility offering. GUADEC 2008

At the annual European GNOME Conference, GNOME hackers from all across the globe will gather and show off new cool technologies, party and discuss the future direction of the project.

Keynote speakers include Leisa Reichelt and Matt Webb, who are both heavily involved in user experience, and Eric Sink, founder of AbiSource and software development business entrepreneur!

GNOME.Asia Summit 2008

The first GNOME.Asia Summit will take place from October 17th through the 18th 2008, in Beijing, China. Approximately 300 people are expected to attend. This will be an exciting event with a variety of people attending. The theme of the summit is 'Go GNOME- Free Your Desktop' which refers to the primary goals of the GNOME.Asia Summit, spreading the knowledge of GNOME across Asia, and building a more vibrant, thriving community around it.
