Blogging that's actually re-usable (tm)*
MJ has not been developed for a long time, it is an excellent resource if you're looking for how to use the bindings for the gtkhtml editor, that is about all.
Just like every other one out there in the world right now. Monkey Journal doesn't aim to be the best or have the most features of any editor.
It's main goal is to reuse as much code from other GNOME projects. This reuse helps integrate into the Desktop and allow me to design a better experience without re-inventing the wheel.
Latest versions of the code for Monkey Journal are available here. Monkey Journal requires PyGtk with the bonobo and gconf bindings, as well as the GtkHTML Editor version 3.1.x
Monkey Journal has category support built into the interface, allowing you to see what category you're posting to and to change to any of the available categories in your blog.
Because we're reusing the code from the GtkHTML Editor, we're able to offer all of the functionality that you've seen in that interface before. Links, Tables, and Images; all with undo and redo support built-in.
One of the other nice things about reusing the GtkHTML Editor is that we also get the auto-linking feature that has been included in the latest releases of the Editor.
These are the blogs that we currently support in Monkey Journal, however more blogs may be included assuming they use the same protocols as these systems.
